Always Ready

Always Ready

"But the one who endures to the end will be saved.”

MATTHEW 24:13

It is easy to be distracted - caught up in the activities of daily living. It is substantially more difficult to be prepared to meet the Lord. This preparation takes faith and strength in the face of the call of work, family, friends and other self-driven obligations at any given moment. Occupying space and time is simple - focusing on the Lord takes effort as he does not disclose the time of his arrival - but yet asks you to be ready in mind, body and spirit.

The master in which you serve is the master that you choose to occupy your time and efforts. What good is the knowledge of Christ when you are not doing what he asks? What good is being aware of scripture only to fall back on your emotions in the natural? What good is it to gain wealth and then not feed and help those in need? We are called not for head knowledge or memorization - but to be diligent in preparing for his arrival - to be held to account to King Jesus. He asks us to love our neighbor - that is - the person near to you - in need of help.

Do not be caught sleeping and unaware of the account for which you will be held. Falling asleep in Christ is to be awake in the natural and choose another will to fulfill. It is to have your eyes opened - but yet be distracted away from Jesus. Be diligent in rousing yourself to the call of King Jesus as he is coming soon and there is no other name on earth or in heaven to which you will be held to account.

So, prepare not for the world or its indulgencies - but rather - prepare your spirit - such that when our Lord comes you will be clean - made whole in the spirit - purified in his blood. You prepare your spirit by seeking Jesus and doing what he asks.
