"So put to death the sinful, earthly things lurking within you. Have nothing to do with sexual immorality, impurity, lust, and evil desires. Don’t be greedy, for a greedy person is an idolater, worshiping the things of this world."
COLOSSIANS 3:5
In the great moments of the experiences of God we are ready to go and follow him at once. In the boring daily life of routine and habit there is hardly a whisper of the call of God present. When you are reborn in Christ - you are reborn in Spirit. This is true. The spirit of the most high God - will be born in you. The spirit will be an infant inside you and grow and mature in the wisdom and understanding of the Lord as you fuel his spirit in you by faith and obedience to his word.
Be careful not to be caught only in the beautiful nature of the Lord as he is Love but to be diligent in always pursuing his life inside you - this is the purpose of rebirth in you. When you do this with heartfelt diligence and faith it is the Lord himself that will live in you. You see God is a spirit of Love and he is who he is.
To accept the Lord is the beginning part of the new mission. Let the spirit guide your new habits of daily scripture, prayer and meditation. As you grow in your desire to learn about Jesus and your new life, the daily habits of immersion into your new life for Christ will replace your old ways of spending time. You will thirst for scripture.
“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.” 2 Timothy 3:16-17
“Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” 1 Timothy 4:8
“And we have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us.” 1 Corinthians 2:12
“So get rid of all evil behavior. Be done with all deceit, hypocrisy, jealousy, and all unkind speech. Like newborn babies, you must crave pure spiritual milk so that you will grow into a full experience of salvation. Cry out for this nourishment, now that you have had a taste of the Lord’s kindness.” 1 Peter 2:1-3
