Faith Building

Faith Building

Being a disciple of Christ is difficult in this world. The enemy pulls at you in all directions, working through friends, family, co-workers and random people that you encounter along the way. They will pull at you and offer advice that can seem good. They will alter plans, make corrections and shape you into their image of what you should be. This is what people do.

Instead of allowing the Lord to shape you from the inside out into his image. People will try and shape you into their image. Faith is being able to turn down others suggestions for you when you know they do not align with the plan God has spoken into you. Everyone does not understand God and his Holy Spirit. Most people do not have any belief that God speaks into you and through you. Many people that refer to themselves as Christians and are church going people, do not believe that God speaks to you.

Why do they not believe?

It could be because they have never read the Word of God where this is stated repeatedly. It could be that they do not believe in the Bible so therefore it is a pointless book to learn. It could be, that they were told by a church person or a parent that God does not speak to people directly anymore. Most likely, there are a combination of things that have led to the lies that people believe that keep them from hearing and knowing Jesus.

Whatever the reason, it is simply not true.

God is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He does not change.

God does speak. He speaks clearly. He speaks into you through his Holy Spirit, which is obtained by asking him for it.

Faith is exercising your belief in God in the face of the unseen path. Faith is being strong enough to ignore the noise that other people make in your life. Faith is being willing to walk out the death of the natural human way of thinking for the promise that God has spoken into you. Faith is stronger than fear. Faith overcomes every obstacle in time. Faith is a walk. It is a slow walk of progression and growth that only grows when you walk it out.

The walk of faith does not happen overnight or in an instant, generally. To build faith, you must press into it. You must push through mental and physical obstacles in pursuit of it.

You may have great faith in one area of your life in which you have experienced and pressed on through uncertainty. In another area of life, where pressing into faith hasn’t been required or pursued, faith is not strong.

The Lord meets you in action. The fruit of faith is realized when you do absolutely everything you can with full effort and prayer. God will meet you at the brink of your exhausted efforts. When the Lord’s will is lined up with your actions and efforts, he will do his part.

Stay the course and do not give up.

The Lords path is ripe for pursuit. He desires to speak into you. He desires to help you. He already loves you, and he wants you to love him and pursue him as much as he loves and pursues you so that he may direct all the steps of your life.
