Honoring With Life

Honoring With Life

"If we live, we live for the Lord; and if we die, we die for the Lord. So, whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord." Romans 14:8 (NIV)

The Christian life begins with surrender. When a person places their faith in Jesus Christ, they acknowledge that their life ultimately belongs to Him. This is not a loss of purpose but the discovery of true purpose. Believers are invited to live each day with the understanding that they have been redeemed by Christ and called to reflect His character and serve His kingdom.

Following Jesus requires trust. It often means laying aside personal ambitions, fears, and assumptions in order to embrace God's plans. The disciples experienced this firsthand as they left familiar lives to follow Christ. Their journey was not always easy, but through their obedience they witnessed God's power, grace, and faithfulness in remarkable ways.

After His resurrection, Jesus empowered His followers through the Holy Spirit. The same Spirit continues to guide, strengthen, and equip believers today. God does not call His people to serve Him in their own strength. Instead, He provides wisdom, courage, understanding, and spiritual power so they can fulfill the purposes He has prepared for them.

To honor the Lord with life means recognizing that every day is an opportunity to glorify Him. Whether through work, relationships, service, worship, or sharing the gospel, believers can live with the confidence that they belong to Christ. Their identity is not rooted in worldly accomplishments but in the love and calling of the One who redeemed them.
