“I am the good shepherd; I know my own sheep, and they know me, just as my Father knows me and I know the Father. So I sacrifice my life for the sheep. I have other sheep, too, that are not in this sheepfold. I must bring them also. They will listen to my voice, and there will be one flock with one shepherd.”
JOHN 10:14-16
The Lord asks that you abandon your personal will and common sense understanding and follow him. He does not say do as you need and then follow me. At the point in which you break the stubbornness of the misguided mind and follow Jesus without hesitation, the Lord will reveal to you more of him in you. This is true. God molds you into his image as you are obedient and willing to follow what he asks of you.
At the moment when you doubt the message you hear, ask if it is "good" or "bad." If the message you hear is inherently good, it is from your Lord. All good things are done in Jesus name and to Jesus the credit is given.
The Lord says, the feeling of anxiety and stress arise from fear of the unknown, this increases as the human outlook in any given situation looks like something bad is about to happen. This is when his Word and the Spirit fight for you. The key to the battle is having The Holy Spirit and the Word. The Word is the sword against the enemy. It truly fights within.
In prayer and constant communion with the Lord through The Holy Spirit, asking for guidance continually and learning his Word, you are always where you need to be. When the Lord asks you or you feel a nudging to do something – be obedient to his will and do the thing he asks. In this way, you are always where he wants you to be. So, he is with you. Where he is, freedom and safety live also. Where he is, peace and love fill you.
“Do not believe everyone who claims to speak by the Spirit. You must test them to see if the spirit they have comes from God. For there are many false prophets in the world. This is how we know if they have the Spirit of God: If a person claiming to be a prophet acknowledges that Jesus Christ came in a real body, that person has the Spirit of God.” 1 John 4:1-2
“Do not stifle the Holy Spirit. Do not scoff at prophecies, but test everything that is said. Hold on to what is good. Stay away from every kind of evil.” 1 Thessalonians 5:19-22
“Let those who are wise understand these things. Let those with discernment listen carefully. The paths of the Lord are true and right, and righteous people live by walking in them.” Hosea 14:9
“So all of us who have had that veil removed can see and reflect the glory of the Lord. And the Lord—who is the Spirit—makes us more and more like him as we are changed into his glorious image.” 2 Corinthians 3:18
