Just Show Up

Just Show Up

"So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

DEUTERONOMY 31:6

When at first the Lord gains our attention in a matter of inspiration, we pledge our allegiance to him. When the Lord begins his work in us and the trials and difficulties become tiresome, our faces become sad and tired. It is in the unknown in which he desires to do his will - as obscure people far from praise. It is in the daily life that the Lord needs workers. We are molded and tested in the small and obscure to be made whole, willing to do the Lord's will in all situations we are placed.

We are here as sons and daughters of the most high to do his will - not ours. That means in doing God's will, we learn to not have personal emotion for our own lives. Emotion is individual based. It comes from a worry or some unknown fear that enters the mind when you take the path of God - which is unknown. Emotions creep in when you lose those that you love or things are taken from you or those that once called you friend, walk away.

The walk with Jesus is one of faith and obedience. It is more about self-denial with Jesus such that he can mold you perfect for his Holy purpose. Self denial occurs in being molded through difficult times, when things aren't going well, yet you are being obedient to God. It is the Lord's hope that we pray for God's will to be done, not ours. He knows better than us. Pray for God's will to be done in you - then let Jesus live through you in faith - and just show up so he may do his work through you.

“For his Spirit joins with our spirit to affirm that we are God’s children. And since we are his children, we are his heirs. In fact, together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering.” Romans 8:16-17

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7

“If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross daily, and follow me. If you try to hang on to your life, you will lose it. But if you give up your life for my sake, you will save it.” Luke 9:23-24

“The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.” Matthew 9:37-38
