"For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!"
2 CORINTHIANS 4:17
To completely give in to the will of Jesus through the Holy Spirit, we have to change our understanding of sympathy to ourself and others, so that we have complete faith that God's new way in us or another - is exactly the way he desires it to be. Be present minded not to intercede on behalf of your line of ideas and sin. We often cling to our old ways and say this does not need to change, there is no sin here.
The truth is that sin died with Jesus if you identify with Jesus. To identify with Jesus is to choose Jesus and his way. Only his blood will clean you allowing a new mind and new heart to take hold inside you through Baptism of the Holy Spirit. Be confidant in Jesus - he is the only truth of life for life. If you continue in your old ways - where is the evidence of a new life or a new way?
There is no life except through Jesus Christ. This means his will supersedes ours. It means his will is greater than ours. He knows all things as it has been pre-planned when you follow him and he works all things for his purpose - even when it doesn't seem like it. Rest not in yourself, but in the fact that Jesus Christ is God. His will, therefore, is greater. A new life requires the ending of the previous life you lived or it is not new at all.
Thus, in excess sympathy you recognize and give life to feelings and conditions with someone not set in the truth of Jesus. The truth is that he is in all circumstances - bending - molding and creating his people for his perfect will, because his will is greater than ours. We follow Jesus because he knows the end from the beginning and orchestrates The Way to get there and the old way must be broken to change paths. We follow him by faith. There is no faith required when the road is easy and smooth - faith is required on a path you have not walked before.
