"I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to himself through the loving mercy of Christ. You are following a different way that pretends to be the Good News but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who deliberately twist the truth concerning Christ."
GALATIANS 1:6-7
There are not alternate ways into heaven. There is only one way - the Lord's way - through Jesus - with Jesus. There is no God except him. There is a common doctrine of going to heaven that says if you are good - then you will go to heaven. If you are bad - then you will go to hell. What is good or bad? All people born on this earth have sinned and fallen short with the exception of one - and he is God.
It is declared far and wide that saying you believe in Jesus is the only thing that is needed for heaven - regardless of whether you stop sinning or living the same life as before. The truth is that accepting Jesus as the risen Lord by faith is an acknowledgement that you have fallen short and therefore change your old ways. The devil himself believes in Jesus - but he is not obedient to him. The devil will not be in heaven. There is no repentance if you do not change. A repentant heart seeks a new life and is thankful for it. A repentant heart causes an action change from sinning without caring - to loving others more than yourself.
Jesus declares that the gate to heaven is narrow and few choose it. The current view commonly taught is that all people who simply say they believe Jesus by their mouth are going to heaven. That is not accurate - nor did Jesus ever say that - nor is that a narrow gate with few choosing it. When Paul wrote his letter to the early Roman church and states - For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved - he meant Jesus is available for everyone - everywhere - no matter what you have done - he is not simply a God of the descendants of Israel (Jacob). He was not saying that you simply say his name and continue in your sinful ways without change.
Jesus is very clear on heaven. It is not about claiming to be a believer - it is about doing God's will. He specifically says - not everyone who calls him Lord will enter the Kingdom of heaven - but rather those that do God's will. This is the message of salvation.
“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!"
“For the law was given through Moses, but God’s unfailing love and faithfulness came through Jesus Christ. No one has ever seen God. But the unique One, who is himself God, is near to the Father’s heart. He has revealed God to us.” John 1:17-18
“There is salvation in no one else! God has given no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.” Acts 4:12
“And this world is fading away, along with everything that people crave. But anyone who does what pleases God will live forever.” 1 John 2:17
“Then Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.” Matthew 11:28-30
