Personal Choices

Personal Choices

"Everyone who sins is breaking God’s law, for all sin is contrary to the law of God. And you know that Jesus came to take away our sins, and there is no sin in him."

1 JOHN 3:4-5

The decision to stop sinning is a personal one that you must make alone with God. Whatever the nature in a person that is at strife with the Spirit of God must be put to death in you. Pray to the Lord to search within you to reveal the nature that is at odds with the Holy Spirit. To be free of living a sinful nature you must align yourself with the life of the risen Lord and allow the Holy Spirit to work his very nature inside of you.

Sin was defeated at the Cross. The Holy Spirit of Jesus Christ allows us to be set free of sin by choice. The death of Jesus meant the death to sin. The resurrection of life in King Jesus is the same resurrection of life that takes place in being born again through Baptism of the Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus Christ.

Remove the sinful nature by making new choices and become part of the body of Christ. There is no new life in Jesus, if you remain in the same sin as before. Where is the evidence then of being born again? When we are born again in the Holy Spirit, we are given the power to make new choices that are not sinful or destructive. We are given new power and a new path to take. Choose Jesus - choose the voice of love that he speaks into your spirit.

“The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.” Romans 8:11

“For every child of God defeats this evil world, and we achieve this victory through our faith. And who can win this battle against the world? Only those who believe that Jesus is the Son of God.” 1 John 5:4-5

“And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19

“Remember, it is sin to know what you ought to do and then not do it.” James 4:17

“The temptations in your life are no different from what others experience. And God is faithful. He will not allow the temptation to be more than you can stand. When you are tempted, he will show you a way out so that you can endure.” 1 Corinthians 10:13
