Pressing In Virtue

Pressing In Virtue

“But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. Spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may rejoice in you.”
Psalm 5:11 (NIV)

One of the greatest demonstrations of faith is choosing to trust God's goodness even when circumstances are difficult. It is natural to rejoice when prayers are answered quickly and life feels peaceful. Yet mature faith learns to cling to God not only in seasons of blessing but also in seasons of uncertainty, hardship, and waiting.

Scripture consistently reminds believers that God is good. His goodness does not change with circumstances. His character remains constant whether we are experiencing joy or sorrow, abundance or need. Because God is faithful, His people can take refuge in Him and trust that He is working even when they cannot see the outcome.

Virtue is strengthened through perseverance. As believers continue seeking God during difficult seasons, their trust deepens and their character matures. The challenges of life often become opportunities to discover God's faithfulness in new ways. What feels like delay or uncertainty may actually be part of His loving process of shaping hearts and preparing His people for what lies ahead.

The Lord never abandons those who belong to Him. He is a refuge, a protector, and a source of strength for those who trust in Him. When burdens become heavy and strength seems insufficient, God invites His children to draw near to Him. Through prayer, Scripture, worship, and quiet trust, believers find renewed peace and confidence in His care.

Thankfulness also plays a powerful role in spiritual growth. Gratitude shifts our attention from what is lacking to what God has already provided. As believers thank God in all circumstances, they become more aware of His presence and more confident in His promises.

Today, choose to trust God's goodness regardless of your circumstances. Take refuge in His presence, thank Him for His faithfulness, and continue seeking Him with confidence. The Lord who calls you is faithful, and He will sustain you through every season.
