Serving Others

Serving Others

“God has given each of you a gift from his great variety of spiritual gifts. Use them well to serve one another."

1 PETER 4:10

In complete discipleship there are no options - no choices - only that the will of Jesus be done in me.  In despair - in sadness - in solace - these are emotions that must be broken free for the will of God to be complete. There is no longer "I" - just "him." The one who makes me clean - his will is my will.

God is not concerned about the plans you have designed for your life. God is concerned about his will being done in you such you will live the life he has prepared for you. This only happens through following Christ.

The Lord gives his Holy Spirit freely, through obedience and faith in Jesus. Obedience is the key to The Holy Spirit. Many know the name of Jesus, few have faith he is the risen Lord, very few are obedient some of the time and even less walk in perfect obedience in spirit and truth all the time.

The result is very little discussion or faith that The Holy Spirit still has power today.

The Holy Spirit still has power today, yesterday and tomorrow. God is the same always. People change. Be obedient, have faith in Jesus and ask and you shall receive. The power belongs to Jesus, to be used by him, to be a disciple for Christ, is a choice of service.

Those baptized into Jesus are all to be celebrated. As faith in the risen Lord alone is the entry ticket to heaven. There are many other gifts and blessings that the Lord desires to provide in this life as well. These gifts and blessings occur through faith in the word and obedience to Jesus. This builds faith and increases The Holy Spirit inside of you. This allows the God of all creation to speak more and more clearly to you and he is always wanting to speak to you.

“Oh, what a miserable person I am! Who will free me from this life that is dominated by sin and death? Thank God! The answer is in Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 7:24-25

“And remember, if you were a slave when the Lord called you, you are now free in the Lord. And if you were free when the Lord called you, you are now a slave of Christ.” 1 Corinthians 7:22

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11

“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
