Waiting In Faith
Share
“He reveals deep and hidden things; he knows what lies in darkness, and light dwells with him... I thank and praise you, God of my ancestors: You have given me wisdom and power.”
Daniel 2:22-23 (NIV)
God often gives His people a glimpse of what He intends to accomplish long before they are prepared to walk fully into it. Throughout Scripture, we see men and women receive promises, callings, and visions from the Lord, only to enter a season of waiting before those promises were fulfilled. The waiting was not wasted time—it was preparation.
Faith grows strongest in the valley between the promise and the fulfillment. During these seasons, God develops perseverance, humility, wisdom, and dependence upon Him. What feels like delay is often God's loving work of preparing His people for what lies ahead. The Lord is far more concerned with who we are becoming than how quickly we arrive at our destination.
Jesus Himself spent forty days in the wilderness before beginning His public ministry. Moses spent years in the desert before leading Israel. David was anointed king long before he sat upon the throne. Again and again, Scripture demonstrates that God's preparation often precedes His promotion.
Waiting in faith requires trust. It means believing that God is working even when nothing appears to be changing. It means continuing to pray, obey, and remain faithful when answers seem delayed. The Lord sees the whole picture, while we see only a small portion of His plan. What is hidden from us is fully known to Him.
During seasons of waiting, believers are invited to draw closer to God rather than becoming discouraged. The valley becomes a classroom where faith is strengthened, character is refined, and spiritual maturity grows. The Holy Spirit works within us, teaching us to depend less on our own understanding and more on God's wisdom and timing.
Today, if you find yourself waiting for an answer, a breakthrough, or the fulfillment of a promise, remember that God has not forgotten you. The Lord who gave the vision is also guiding the process. Trust His timing, remain faithful, and allow Him to continue His work within you. His plans are always worth the wait.
