The Prophets
A Prophet of God is simply a person who receives revelations / information from God.
The entire Bible is a written account of these revelations and information from God about God. That is what the Bible is.
God is always the same. He has not changed. He has not lost his ability to speak and communicate.
List of Prophets in order of the Books of the Bible

Moses (1526 BC - 1406 BC) 120 Years - Moses wrote the first five books of the Bible. These five books are also called The Torah for Jewish believers of God as it is the Hebrew Bible. Torah simply means to guide or teach. It is a book of Instruction.
- Moses was Hebrew, but raised by the family of Pharoah in Egypt. He grew up well educated and with plenty of everything.
- Moses is the most important leader of the Hebrew people and the greatest of all the prophets.
- God spoke to Moses face to face and called him his friend. There is no other account of this in the Bible. There has never been another prophet in Israel like Moses.
- Moses freed the descendants of Jacob - (The twelve family tribes of Israel) from slavery in Egypt. They were slaves to the Egyptians for four hundred and thirty years.
- The Exodus occurred in the year 1446 BC.
- The Lord spoke through Moses, which is what brought about the ten different plagues that came upon the Egyptians, before Pharoah allowed them to leave the land.

- Blood - All the waters in Egypt turned to Blood for a short time period.
- Frogs covered the land and were literally everywhere for a short period.
- Gnats covered everything for a short period.
- Flies covered everything for a short period.
- Livestock - All the livestock that were owned by Egyptians died and not a single animal that belonged to an Israelite was harmed.
- Boils - Moses took handfuls of soot from a brick kiln and tossed it in the air in front of Pharoah. The caused festering boils to break out on all the animals and Egyptians for a short period.
- Hail - The most devasting hail storm in the history of the Egypt took place leaving all of Egypt in ruins. The hail struck down everything, people, animals, crops, trees, structures.
- Locusts - A swarm of locusts entered the land so thick that people could not see anything. The locusts destroyed all remaining crops and trees.
- Darkness - Moses lifted his hands toward heaven and the land of Egypt became completely dark for three days. The only visible light was in Goshen, where the people of Israel lived.
- Death of Firstborn - Moses told Pharoah at midnight, all first born sons of every family in Egypt and livestock will die.

- Moses led all of the twelve family tribes - the descendants of the offspring of Jacob out of Egypt. This was 600,000 men, plus all the women, children and their herds of livestock. The Approximate total of people based on average family size, could have been 2.4 million or more people.

- Moses instructed the people, through the Lord how to build the ARK Of The Covenant, construct the Tabernacle, and make the priestly garments among many other things.
- Moses led all of the people in the wilderness for forty years.
- Moses died at age 120. He never set foot in the promised land, but saw it all from Mount Nebo on the plains of Moab.

Joshua (1466 BC - 1356 BC) 110 Years - After the death of Moses, the Lord's servant and friend, the Lord spoke to Joshua, the son of Nun, who was Moses' longtime assistant. Joshua was full of the spirit of wisdom, Moses had laid his hands on him.
- The Lord gave Joshua the same exact promise he gave to Moses. The Lord said, wherever you set foot, you will be on land I have given you...No one will be able to stand against you as long as you live. For I will be with you as I was with Moses. I will not fail you or abandon you. Be strong and courageous.
- Joshua was one of twelve spies, selected by Moses to explore the land they were promised. Only Joshua and Caleb brought back a truthful report of what they saw.
- The Lord instructed Joshua to lead all of the people of Israel - (The descendants of the twelve tribes of the offspring of Jacob, plus the family Tribes of Ephraim and Manasseh) into the land, conquer the people living there and allocate the various parcels of land among the large families.
- Joshua did as he was instructed and everything went well and he completed everything he was told to do.
- Joshua Crossed the Jordan in 1406 BC
- Joshua died at the age of 110.

Samuel (1102 BC - 1012 BC) 90 Years - Samuel was the last Judge, before the people demanded a King. Samuel was dedicated to the Lord his entire life. After having his first direct conversation with the Lord as a child, he communicated with Lord all of his life on behalf of the Israelite people.
- After being attacked repeatedly by the Philistines, the people pleaded with Samuel to help them. He prayed to the Lord for help and the Lord gave the people of Israel protection and the Philistines did not invade again for some time.
- Each year, Samuel traveled around to Bethel, then Gilgal and then Mizpah to help and lead the people that came to him.
- When Samuel got old, he appointed his sons to be Judges, but they were not like Samuel and they accepted bribes and perverted justice.
- The Leaders gathered with Samuel to discuss the matter and ask for a King.
- Samuel was displeased and the Lord told him to do as the people asked, but to warn them how a King would rule over them. The people rejected the warning and demanded a King be named.
- The Lord told Samuel to anoint the man he will meet the next day, and this person was Saul from the Tribe of Benjamin.
